5K Fundraiser on Sat. October 1st!

CTC Peeps,

The Shaker Lakes Regional Nature Center is hosting a 5K run on Oct 1st in Shaker Heights. If you register on-line by Wednesday it is only $15!

Proceeds support our outreach work which gives environmental education opportunities to under served youth from Greater Cleveland. For most of these children it is their first time in a natural setting where they can actually see and touch what is in their science book.

We also could use a few more volunteers if running/hiking isn't on your radar. If you want to volunteer, post here or send me an e-mail at henneman <at> shakerlakes <dot> org. If you want to run, follow the links below where you will find registration details.

Is there any fall tri events? Also, do I need special shoes for the spin bikes for the indoor tri series - am a beginner biker and do not have any equipment for that. Mike

Looks like your questions were answered on another thread. But, I will say that you would be able to do the indoor tri (bike and run portion) in running shoes.

We will need volunteers for the indoor tri's this winter so if you would like to see what one is like before participating that is an option. Keep your eye on the forum and facebook to sign up.

Just got news that we will be raffling off 2 free pairs of Montrail shoes at the race on Saturday!! Top 3 overall Male and Female athletes will also receive gift certificates to the Cleveland Running Company!

You can still register the morning of the race (follow links in above post for more race info) or on Friday night from 4:30 - 6:30 p.m. at the Cleveland Running Company.
