I am going to be spending the next year learning how to run! I will also be coaching debate. If you ever feel like your weekends are just too long, let me know, I can keep you very busy judging debate on Saturdays!

Catching up on my video games. My PS3 and my mancave missed me. Also, watching football all day long on Sundays and/or tailgating at Browns games.
For training, focusing on the running. I have always let my running lapse way too much in the offseason and then it is a huge fight to get back into even reasonable shape. As the offseason goes on I will add back the other 2 disciplines with some structure, but for now just biking/swimming when I feel like it.

Jen I will take a month to 6 weeks in an active recovery mode - just doing whatever I feel like - then training for IM-LP will kick in - I really want to focus on becoming a stronger rider this winter

Spending the offseason nursing a herniated achilles. In the meantime I'm trying to enter grad school and make up for some missed family time. The good news is that I found a 24 hr pool 10 min away so morning workouts will start at 330a now...oh, and I put on 23 lbs.

Yoga, core work, and golf. Just started practicing flip turns and the back stroke in the pool. I look ridiculous doing both.

Agreed. Awesome juggle/roller action! But, I'm racing next weekend...so it isn't the off-season yet! But my off-season plans will be:
1) strengthen core 2) run on trails...alot 3) ride bike in living room....alot. work on building power at high cadences. Also ride bike in tights, wool socks and balaclava throughout Eastern Cuyahoga County and back and forth from work. 4) read 5) learn to do flip turns. Or backstroke. Or beast stroke. Or....fly! 6) learn to ride rollers. Cannot juggle on rollers without this important step. At some point I will learn to juggle (which is probably easier than learning fly).

I can teach you how to juggle and how to ride rollers, but I can't do them both at the same time.

The 24 hr pool is right around the corner at Riverwood Plantation. Corner of /Washingtone and William Few Pkwy...Probably should have mentioned that it's just outside Augusta Georgia. As a fun tidbit, it's an outdoor pool that they put an inflataable dome over in NOvember. Yes, November. It gets pretty cold I guess in October. Air temps likes 80. Sweater weather...

Looking forward to getting back to climbing...indoors, rock and ice. Mountain biking if it stops raining. Tri swimming this winter. Should probably work on my run but am thinking about checking out the indoor cycling from our new sponsor instead. Oh, and somewhere in there, pass the cpa exam.

Starting to mentally work toward Road Race season, while working through my post season phase 2 taper. I have to start building again in another month since March will be upon us before we know it!

- Catch up on everything I didn't have time for in the last 6 months -Skiing! Bought a pair of downhill skis last winter and I'm antsy to bust them out again. Bring on the snow! I also plan to give cross country skiing another go. Tried this a couple years ago and it's quite a workout! -I've been wanting to pick up rock climbing for a couple years. Going to Kendall Cliffs next weekend. Anyone know of any other local gyms good for beginners? -Contemplating a spring Marathon so lots of running especially after the holidays -Becoming friends with the trainer over the winter. I hate it but my cycling is lagging and needs to improve. I think that should keep me occupied and hopefully minimize any off-season weight gain

I believe there's still a rock gym in Euclid.

There is a gym in Euclid, it is called Cleveland Rock Gym. www.clevelandrockgym.com/It and Kendall Cliff's are the only 2 climbing gyms in the area but there are a couple more places that have a nice wall and are open to the public...The University of Akron Rec Center and Lifetime Fitness in Beachwood.
