This coming weekend there will be a lot of opportunities for doing some mega-workouts. Details coming this week, but, here is a snapshot of what's coming:
Friday 7/1: Mega Epic Friday ride (up to 135 miles)
Saturday 7/2: Super Saturday Bike n' Swim Saturday 7/2: BIG Swim #2 (1.8 miles - point-to-point) Saturday 7/2: Rev 3 Course Ride
Sunday 7/3: Big Swim #3 (same route) followed by 40-mile bike
Monday 7/4: The always popular Medina Twin Sizzler (running and bike road races)
There may be more (East Side ride, Special edition Monday Brick, etc).
Stay tuned for more details....

Cool - For Sunday, I'm thinking the earlier the better for the Swim/Bike for many reasons (i.e. boats on the lake, traffic on the roads, etc.). So - how about 9 am ?? This will give us plenty of time for non-Westsiders to get over there without getting up at Stupid hour on a Holiday weekend (Marie - yes, I'm thinking at Lake Front Ride toward Vermillion and back - lots of wind to deal with - FUN). Then we'll be done in time to hit Panini's for wings after ! Thoughts? For Friday: Meet at Sweetwater Landing in the Rocky River Reservation at 8:20 am (push off at 8:30 am). Riding 115 miles or you can turn around at any point in-between. Here's the route: www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/38953392I'll get 20+ in before the big ride starts.

I'm in for Sunday swim and ride (assuming there is still a contingency of riders - if not, I'm okay going it solo, but I'm much rather ride with some peeps!) Saturday I'm sticking close to home with a bike/run brick after my daughter's swim meet. Anything going on Monday?? Looking to ride some more

Chris - I'm looking for a long ride Friday and my short list is emerald necklace as well. Can't hang with the big boys on the west side, so I'm prepared to go solo. Not sure I could hang with you ... and don't want to hold you back - what kind of pace do you keep? On a good day, I'm a solid B rider, on a not so good day, well, C, of course. Hence the need for more time in the saddle so I can build 'er back up to that solid B I was riding last summer.

Option for Sat 7/2: Bike Ride - Cedar Point Rev3 1/2 iron course - arrive by 8:15 am, begin riding at 8:30 am - meet at Osborn Park in Huron, just off Rt 6 at 3910 Perkins Ave. - Bring shoes to run after the ride if you want. - Ride 46 miles OR all 56 - We will be starting at about mile 5 of the course. At the end, you can ride the last 5 miles up to Cedar Point and back on the causeway. Web site for Osborn Park where we will meet and start riding: www.eriemetroparks.com/Facilities/names/osborn.htmlYou may also want to print out a map of the bike course to have with you. You can find one here: rev3tri.com/cedar-point/course-info-4/bike-course/

Tiffany, I will not be riding very fast. Planning on averaging around 18 for the whole ride this ride is just to get use to the time in the saddle for my Ironman race. There is a slight change I made to my route since I was planning on riding solo, I am starting from my house instead of north chagrin, its only a few miles away.

Great swim today - conditions were absolutely perfect. Tomorrow is on for 9 am. Be at Bradstreet about 8:45 so we can coordinate shuttling everyone back to Columbia to kick it off. 30-40 mile bike, then Panini's after. MUSCLE MILK is providing complimentary recovery drinks ! Lara - you can swim around Bradstreet Pier - to the west is a bouy ball you can sight off of for practice - just stay away from the far end of the pier so you don't get snagged by a fishing line !!

Wow - Great day on the water !! Flat water with slight "downhill" current. We had 24 swimmers. Five stayed in the cove, 19 swam 1.8 miles.
Biking was really good too - not as much wind as usual for Lake Road.
Unfortunately we had one tire blow out (Liz) and one bike accident (Paul). Although he ended up with a broken collar bone, it could have been much worse. Here's to a speedy recovery !
