If you are like me and have watched all that has happened and is happening in Japan, you feel overwhelmed and helpless yet you want to do something.
Well if you feel this way I am putting together a team to go there and serve with distributing water, food and whatever is needed.
We went to New York after 9/11 and helped feed the police, firemen and construction workers, we went 3 times and helped in clean -up demolition and rebuilding after Katrina and also after Iowa floods.
I have friends in the states and also in Japan who will be setting up a distribution center that will give out these things. The best part about those setting this up is that every cent that is given will go 100% to the people of Japan. That is why I am involved with them.
If anyone wants to help in any way or if anyone wants to go let me know. I am sure the conditions will be rough. No sissies. ( there are no triathlete sissies) so I do not need to say that. The only real expense will be airfare. Once we are there everything else should be covered. Just be ready to sleep and live in a hard situation. Probably a week to 10 days we would be there.
My thoughts are to go after the initial push fades. The needs will last for over a year but after a month or 2 it will be forgotten by most. That is when we will go.
Probably after a month or two.
As for fear of radiation my thoughts are the people there will be living in it for a long time. I am not afraid of going a few days.
Just thought I would let everyone know in case someone feels the same way.
I just cannot watch all this without doing something. I know I am to go and bring anyone else who wants to
on my profile is my e-mail address. You can e-mail me or respond here.
