Any advice on what type of cassette to run on this reputed-to-be-a-monster course? I'm thinking 11-28. Thanks.

Not doing the race but I love those easy gears!!!
If you have a standard crank I'd run a 12-27 or 11-28 although I'm sure some would be perfectly fine with less.
I run a compact, so a 12-25 would probably be just fine in that situation for me.

Ian, are you doing the entire weekend? Awesome. 11-28 is a good choice. As the weekend progresses you will like having the 28. A compact crank is debatable with the 28. Make sure you are riding those hills in training.

I have 11-25 currently on my race wheels. I'm on the fence whether to go with it or change to a 12-27 or 11-28. I will decide after getting out on some climbs early April once I see what watts are being produced with certain gearing. I'm thinking if I can stay in the correct zone regardless of grade, I'll stay with what I have. Also planning to be a few lbs lighter to help the cause;-)

Looks like the same sourse as 2007 when I did just the half. If your doing the whole weekend or just the half you'll appreciate the 27 or 28 at some point. Top of the first climb is similar to bottom of North Hampton in the valley. Not much straight or flat ground to use the lower gears. Make sure you hit the hills training for the run too, it's rocking. Crazy fun atmosphere there and the water will be warmer than you think.
