Check this out www.leadmantri.com/it is being put on my Lifetime Fitness and is part of their growing "Leadville" series - though this race is in Vegas - no idea why. I REALLY want to do this. I emailed the race director and got the response below. Looks like this will be a fairly selective field of participants. The web site is pretty limited in info - some things are a bit sketchy. I know the race is pretty early but the run is only 22K Thanks for your interest in Leadman. The race is scheduled for May 14, 2011. The qualifying standards are one or more of the following: Leadville 100 MTB Men: 11:30 Women: 12:00 Leadville 100 Run Men: 29:30 Women: 30:00 Ultra Triathlon* Men: 12:30 Women: 13:00 Marathon Run Men: 2:59 Women: 3:29 * - includes 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike and 26.2 mile run If you do not meet any of the above standards, please feel free to submit your own personal qualifications. We will be selecting a limited number of other athletes to participate in this inaugural event based on these submissions. Registration will begin shortly. Other information (i.e. time cutoffs) will become available as we finalize it. WHO is IN with me? r

Looks like someone is trying to capitalize on the fact that Silverman moved out of Lake Mead to Lake Las Vegas (and apparently have closed up shop / cancelled for at least 2011).
Which leaves only Pumpkinman as a long course triathlon at Lake Mead (that I know of).
Lake Mead must be nice - Silverman / Pumpkinman / Leadman - what's next?
I like everything about the event except the short run and the "qualification standards to get in" requirement.
