just a bit over a month out from starting the program. This will be held at Oberlin College on SUNDAY mornings from 9:45 to 11:45. If you are interested there are some things that need to be taken care of. Also - feel free to email me rob.reddy@oberlin.edu for more info. This is a FANTASTIC class for newbies and vets alike.
1. PAPERWORK and payment ($80) - i gotta get this stuff together and off to the college. Attached is the waiver. Please complete and send paperwork/payment to me - I have a NEW address:
Rob Reddy
561 Glen Park Drive
Bay Village OH 44140
2. There is still space available - so please pass the word to anyone your think might be interested.
3. I'm looking at having a 9:45 start time - for those who are in the swim program we have to hussle to get going - for those who are not you will be able to get into the building at 9:30 prompt. I'll send more info and address as we get closer to the start date.
4. Dates - here they are again:
1/16 - trainer
1/23 - trainer
2/6 - trainer
2/27 - trainer
3/6 - trainer
3/20 - trainer
3/27 - trainer
4/3 - trainer
4/17 - trainer
5/8 - trainer
5. Things you will need - most everyone probably has all this stuff, but just in case:
bike
trainer
block for you front wheel
towels for under/around your bike - the college WILL NOT provide towels
a couple bottles of water or fluids - you will need AT LEAST 2 24 oz bottles
a cycle computer WITH cadence - not required but helpful
6. Workouts - although there will be a build up in terms of intensity of the 2 hour sessions - we do hit 2 hours on the ever first sunday. I would HIGHLY recommend that everyone start ridding the trainer NOW - 3 times a week - not all your rides need to be 2 hours long - but you do want to start getting in some saddle time now because come the first class 2 hours will seem like a VERY long time!! About three weeks out I will send a few workouts out to the group that you can do - but for now just hit the trainer.
If you have any questions - please let me know. This looks like it will be a very nice group - honestly there is nothing better than doing a trainer ride with a group of people - slogging it out alone in the basement is really no fun - so the more people we can get involved the BETTER.
