There have been a few organized point to point (Columbia Rd to Brad Street Pier or reverse) open water swims over the past few weeks. Is anyone interested in another P2P swim over this distance? Any last minute Rev3'ers need another tune-up/reality check? Or perhaps you are feeling like doing an hour or so swim without flip turns just for the heck of it (like me)?
How about Friday night (9/3) or Saturday morning (9/4)?

My husband and I would be up for the P2P swim on Friday night, around 6pm, since we missed Tuesday night.

I'm up for 6pm on Friday, not sure I will be keeping up with anyone, but I can bring the wetsuit to help a little bit.

We will not be doing this swim today due to a small craft advisory on the lake! Waves are expected to increase in size throughout the day! Sorry

OK, so NO group P2P OWS tonight for the 'letes who replied to this thread.
I'm interested in trying again for tomorrow morning at 8:00 am. Marie might be game. Shannon? Katie? Anyone else?
Since the sun will be in the Eastern sky, it might be prudent to swim West. If there is enough interest (I would prefer a group of 4 or more) then I will plan on being at Columbia Rd at 7:45 am. Blue Explorer w/ share the road plates.

I was finally able to get some swimmers together for the P2P OWS from Columbia to Bradstreet. This swim took place during the normal Tuesday night affair last night. Despite the wind gusts over the past few days, the lake was super quiet - almost glass-like. Shannon, George, Marie, Vince? and I headed East. The water was colder than the past several weeks, so too was the air. I opted to not wear a wetsuit and was quite cold towards the end and on exit. I'm looking to do this swim at least once more this season - perhaps next Tuesday night.

Yeah, Andy and I are planning a rematch of the point to point tonight. Probably doing the same as last week, meet at Columbia and then drop off a car at Bradstreet.

Will the regular swim group be there (for those that can't tackle the trip to Bradstreet)?

Great! I plan to swim until the CVNP trail running series starts up on October 5. I just bought a super sweet Sailfish wetsuit from George Vale - I can't wait to try it out! See you next Tuesday. If anyone is swimming Saturday (09/18/2010); let me know.

I am interested in swimming PTP from CR to BSP again next Tuesday 9/21. 6:15 pm-ish. Marie R. and I had a good swim PTP there last night. Sorry we couldn't wait for you Shannon!
My Garmin recorded 1.79 miles from the normal CR start point to the beach just before BSP. I only recorded one lap unfortunately, which shows me swimming in a straight line. However, my line was far from straight. At one point, Marie thought I was half way to Canada. I will record more laps next time - probably in 50,100 m or 0.05 mi increments.
