Hey all -
I know this is early but a couple of us have planned the 2010 Epic Friday schedule. For those that have done these rides in the past you know what a great set of prep training they are for an IM. And that is totally the focus of the rides - steady state IM style ridding, highly focused. But even if you are not doin an IM, come and join in the fun. Few things......
These are NOT CTC sponsored rides - Wilsie and I started these things 5 or 6 years ago - so they are our ride with our rules - please don't forget that.
Expected pace is 20 mph overall - if you can hang with that great, if you are faster go ahead, slower you will get dropped
The rides are 'unsupported' - we stop at a couple gas stations, but if you break down you better have a way home (I say after having to walk and hitch a ride for 20+ miles a couple years ago - nice girl who was smokin dope pick me up in the Metro Park - good story there - high times)
crying *cough walsh* will not get the ride cut shorter
If you get dropped you better know your way home - and if you ride ahead *cough lamastra* - you better know your way home - AND if you are a bonk-a-pottomus you better pray for a Wendy's *cough Dorren*
It is highly likely John will get us pulled over by the police at some point this summer - bring bail $$
I generally will have a camera with me and even video this year - so everything will be recorded except the stuff we make up
there is a two flat rule - after your second flat *cough lentini* you get dropped
We need to do a bit better job this year at rest stops and quicken things up = no long breaks in '10
We start with a build up, a few Big Saturday's before the main event - Epic Fridays. A few bonus days have been added in this year along with the chance to crack 150m one day. Also on tap is a nice long Monday ride during the 4th of July weekend.
All rides start at Sweetwater Landing in RRR
ride distances are at my calculation - that generally means we will go longer
Questions please let me know - look forward to going Epic!!
