We’re having some t-shirts shirts made up for CTC and we are looking for a fun training slogan or club motto to go on the back of these shirts like “Fear the Red Menace”. Let’s see how creative you are… Ideas?

the motto should contain 2 aspects
1. something distinctly Cleveland 2. something about being tough not a sissy
I cannot think of one but it should have something about these 2
I like the " Real triathletes train in snow"
something like that with something Cleveland added

In keeping with Cleveland lore I suggest: swim through the fire, hammer the flats, and somebody help me out with the run part. Of the others that I've seen it think "fear the red menace" is great, and "I ate a duathlete for breakfast hilarious.

In keeping with Cleveland lore I suggest: swim through the fire, hammer the flats, and somebody help me out with the run part. ....run through the valley. There might be rust in our belt but there is fire in our cranks. Swim, bike, run through the ice, sleet and snow. Tri-ing to train withought frostbite. I've got a new PR. Training in 3 ft. of snow and 20 below. Where cross training involves shovel's and ski's. Real triathletes grow winter beards. :-) Ok, maybe our recent weather has me thinking about snow. Fun thread!!

I vote for Jame's idea.
Lot's of places have snow.
How about - "Our teams lose a lot, so I'm pissed and really want to win."

How a bout
" We, swim through the fire"
which would be taking being known as a city that had a river catch fire and using as an in your face slogan
it is unique to Cleveland and says you have to be tough to live here
anyone like this?

"OBSESSED" is just a word the lazy use to describe the dedicated.

I love the references to the burning Cuyahoga and weather challenges. A modified version of James' idea Swim the burning river... . Hammer out of the flats... . Run through the valley of ice... or: "Wings & Beer - A Cleveland Triathlon Training Tradition since 2005" or: "CTC - Home to the World's Greatest IronFans" or, simply: HTFU

2-3 heads are better than 1. I like Mark's refinements...although the wings and beer are playing on my heartstrings.
