One of my high school classmates (and current coworker @ Progressive) is helping organize people to line the funeral procession route of USMS LCpl David Baker. Baker was a 2006 graduate of Painesville Riverside H.S. (my school), and died on Oct 20 while serving in Afghanistan. Here is more information on the situation and what is happening on Saturday morning: www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=167391395963&ref=mfI know its late notice, but if you have time, join us as we line the procession route, or join the group at the church. Bring a US flag or supportive sign. I plan to be near Riverside High School during the procession.

There must have been several hundred people in front of the high school, and I know there were a few other pockets of people lining the route into Painesville. It was an emotional experience for all, and I hope the family arrived at the services knowing their community supports them in this difficult time.
I didn't go to the human wall around the church. But from what I understand from Al, the protestors were nowhere to be seen. Apparently the owners of all the properties in the vicinity of the church asked the police to ban anyone from being on their property. Hence, the protestors had no way to get near the church.
