I try to go oldschool in triathlons. Just wanted to make sure I can swim in the Wisconsin lake without a wetsuit. I don't care about a fast time but just want to make sure it's not too cold to spend 2 hours in the water and adversely affect the rest of my day.

Been a few years since I did it, but I seem to recall that water would have been fine to go sans-wetsuit.

If you don't mind eating the time loss you'll be fine.

did Moo last year. Water can be either the perfect temp... or d**n cold. This has been a cool summer. Do the math... I'd say wetsuit

I didn't do the race, but I swam the course. I agree with Michael - it all boils down to temp., cause the lake is smooth as glass.

Just an update....no problem swimming without a wetsuit. There was one other dude without one also. I just jumped in wearing the cutoff sweatpants I slept in for pajamas. Came out in 2:01 but I don't really care about the speed too much....just having a good time. Thanks for the advice guys/gals.
