I'll need to see how much they want to charge before i commit to this one. If it's more than $300, I'm out.

The HIM that rev3 put on this year was $250...so I am guessing that full would be a good clip of change more than that.

There will be both a Half and Full Ironman distance event at Cedar Point. Nice! That Half will be very tempting for me.

The half might be more of a go for me. I don't think there is an IM in my future for 2010....but you know me, im stupid and impulsive....so that could change if i can find some more $$$

my guess is they will do the entrance like all other non IM races and stagger the fees. Earlier you sign up the cheaper itll be. I would be shocked if its any lower than $350 to start.
I know thats how most of the other independant IM's do it. Nice thing is lodging will be cheap compared to most other IM venues.
The hotel will be a great spot for the swim. I've been up there many times and its a great spot to do this race. I know im in.

I didn't know there was a half. I'm at least in for that and considering the full. Not sure what I'm thinking but I think it's the peer pressure thing also considering how much time I've spent at cedar point it seems fitting!

I am in for the half for sure and am super excited about it! Got some teammates and friends coming in for it from all over and we are planning on trying to rent a house/condo for the weekend. If anyone has any good leads for me, please let me know! I could repay you in post-race beer at our cookout.

In the new issue of Triathlete Magazine, there is a full page ad. No mention of a half. Who confirmed it?

Hi Ed,

Right now they are really focused on pushing the full distance. The last I heard (this was last week) was that they will be releasing the info for the half shortly--within the next month or so.

Is everyone just calling this "Ironman Cedar Point" now?

Matt, I think its being referred to as IM Cedar Point because of the distance of the race. I think its called the Revolution3 full distance.

Tim is one months recovery post Burning River going to be enough for an IM? I know that there should/will be a lot of cross training for BR, but will there be enough to cover an IM event?? Great that its just down the road, but is it feasible to shoot for both events? Sounds like an excellent idea, but practical?

From the Plain Dealer.....
With entry fees of $500 and $250 for the two main distances, the Cedar Point race costs about as much as Ironman events. A September timeframe places Revolution3 in the vicinity of Ironman races in Kentucky, Michigan, Wisconsin and Ontario, Canada.
gotta believe the hotel will be in the $200 a nite range
gotta pay that $150K purse some how ;]
