The research that was used to clear Oscar Pistorius (the south african guy with artificial running legs) for competition has finally been published in a peer reviewed journal. The interesting thing here is that the article concludes that his running is "mechanically different" but "physiologically similar" despite the fact that they say he uses 17% less oxygen as other 400m runners. That doesn't seem physiologically similar at all to me, and frankly it baffles me how this very evidence was used in a legal setting (successfully) as a defense.
