So we took off last Friday on another adventure of skipping work and doing what one really should be doing on a friday - ridding bikes. Here are the highlights
7 on the roll
new route into Lorain Co - taking the really crappy roads to miss the just plain crappy ones
bitter goes by the name of Marge
chocolate cookies on the bike
a L-O-N-G stern talking to by a state trooper
a puff of blue smoke
Durno getting "Washed Out" by a truck
waving to epic Wendies
a rear bike wheel above your head - never a good sign
Ryan back from the dead
bent rear derailer
40 miles of head winds coming home
90 turning into 110..............
and then a run!!!!

Funny thing is - each one of those lines has a good story behind it... Looking forward to re-hashing them on a future long ride or over a beer watching the Cavs or Penguins. One line is missing: Big loogie in the eye I'll tell you that story - So, as you know, your nose runs while riding the bike. Well, I go to blow each nostril (about 5 miles before I flipped the bike over). As you also know, sometimes you hit your shoulder - or worse - it smacks you on the cheek. Well, this particular loogie decides to blow back... directly in my face. It doesn't hit my sunglasses.... somehow - someway - it goes under my sunglasses and right in one of my eyeballs. So there I am with vision in only one eye - the other one blurred beyond recognition. Trying to keep pace with John and Rob. It takes about 8 rubs of the eye before I can see again. All I can say is WTF !!!

Mike - I just looked at my calendar and... as I suspected... they are over for this year. All the IM Louisville peeps are now in taper-down mode. However, I could be talked into doing one sometime in September if there is interest and it jives with my schedule....

Let me know what "jives" with your schedule. I could definitely be talked into one of these. I had planned on doing an organized century ride mid-september, but it's looking like my calendar won't work for it now. I'd be happy to give it a go with you guys!
