Newbies Ride Beforehand
There will be a newbies bike ride starting at 9:30 AM from Sweetwater Marina at Rocky River. Lets meet by the picnic shelters (go straight when you enter the parking lot instead of going right to the marina). Experienced riders can join too. All paces welcome and no one will be left behind. We'll plan to ride for an hour or so, then we can head home for a shower before the CTC picnic (or just go stinky - hey, we're triathletes! ;D). If you will be attending the ride, just post here.
Save the date for these future newbies sessions: May 23 - GCT training session and clinic May 30 - bike and flat changing session in Peninsula June 13 - bike followed by run (brick) probably at N. Chagrin July 12 - Swim, bike and run on Fairport Harbor course August 23 - Trail run, location TBD

I would if I could but doing the 5k trail race. I didn't think the ride and picnic would be as early as they are. I'll be at the picnic though.

Ah, not a valid excuse! ;D I am doing the 5K at 9:00, then catching up with the ride in the valley ~9:45-10. Will text the beautiful and smart ride leader to figure out the meet-up location. Track me down if you want to tag along.

Just dawned on me that I am assuming you're doing the Emerald Corp Park 5K...

Thanks for the offer-and the guilt-trip but honestly that's trying to do too much for me and right now up until the Cleveland half that's my main focus so I'm not overdoing it on the training at this point. Have a good ride!

Oh, me me me... I'll prob join the newby ride...since I am a newby. In fact, a newby as of just 4 minutes ago. Yes, how 'bout that, finally joined, YEE HAW! Anyway, couple questions about membership. I signed up on Active.com. I saw something about a member number...is this something I'll need to have with me on every ride, run, and swim (perhaps keep it in my speedo) ;D Seriously, how do I know my number and do I just need it to show I'm actually a member?! Anyway, so meet in parking lot near the boat launch at Sweetwater?! Also, if I'm rolling miles with some homies who are not members are they allowed to accompany us...or maybe I should just roll solo? Ok, thanks for your answers. Adam

You don't have to show your member number or even know it. You'll need to print out your card when you receive it, because our sponsors require proof that you are an active member in order to get discounts.
We'll be meeting at the parking lot near the picnic tables. Just go straight back when you enter the parking lot (instead of going right).
Members can bring guests, but I'll probably have them sign a waiver if that is okay.
Look forward to meeting you!
