I am a strong promoter of Triathlons and this forum. When ever I met someone who either runs, bikes or swims only. I challenge them to do the other two. I also tell them about this club and this forum. I thought this would be a good thread for anyone new to read .
I will go first.
There are two things I have gotten the most form on this site besides the answer to many questions. 1. I tend to be hard on m myself and lack patience. Evreyone on this site has helped me be realistic with goals and patient. To avoid injury and being discouraged.
2. There are many who really push the limit which motivates me to stay focused and disciplined. I like being challenged. This sight has made me train to a higher level than I would have otherwise.
These two things may seem to contradict but they do not.
I want to be motivated to push myself but not the point I am unrealistic and stupid.
Besides this I have always gotten excellent counsel and wisdom from many. There are some I would consider friends. I wish I could do more group stuff but There is still a degree of bond on this site in that I can relate to so many who are not just getting fat on the couch watching the TV. Which is what so much of America does.
I would like others to share what they like about this forum. This may encourage visitors who check this out.

Having a discussion board is the thing that drew me to the club - the advice and information presented when I first started 5 years ago was invaluable. Even today, I pick up little things from you all on this forum (and during group training session) that helps tweek the training for the better. Good stuff.

Was my first contact with the club, and the sport in Cleveland. Probably wouldn't be doing this if not for the forum.

This forum has been an excellent source of information on any triathlon related question. I am always amazed and grateful for the number of responses to any given question. Thanks to all.

As a car-free person, having this resource has made it easier for me to arrange transportation to races and other events. It is very easy to become isolated while training. Having a forum allows me constant contact with like minded athletes when my training schedule doesn't. During the past year the forum seemed to loose a bit of it's focus to political banter. I think Facebook has absorbed most of that recently. IMO this is a good thing as this site has been an amazing resource for triathletes. Politics have little to do with my training and racing goals.

I and Pres Obama second Charlie's statement. If we could just get some fed bail out $$ "invested" in CTC who knows how big this Forum could get. And if you become unemployeed for any reason I will personally pay your CTC dues for up to 12 months.

I also would not have completed the events I have without the forum and the friends I have made here. There is every level of triathlete here that will jump in and help the newbie and provide advice on everything from nutrition to what kind of shorts to buy. Not only does it help the beginner it helps anyone who is going to try anything new as someone here will know something about it. Disagree with Charlie (surprised?) on the political views detracting from the forum or shifting the focus. I believe this is a community and we should share personal things including some political jibjab if desired. It has been a lot of fun and kept people active during periods of time when not much was happening and visits to the site were light. None of it prevented anyone from getting advice or making a connection to help them in the sport. I understand some things got heated but that happens with every subject from time to time as has been evidenced with many triathlon threads throughout the years. I thought the addition of the "non triathlon related" section accomplished exactly what is set out to and I commend the board for it. As far as bailouts for the club, lets not ask for any Rob. We can see how much good it is doing for the rest of the country. This is a special place and I also recommend it to everyone I meet who is considering the sport because there is more knowledge and assistance here than any other place I have found.

Jack, you know I have fun with it. I am just glad it has found a different place to surface. Rob, been juggling checks all spring. Next up is CTC renewal and my passport.
