Any good ones that someone can recommend fairly close to home? I saw this one www.savagemantri.org/ looks like a tough but fun one. Any others? Thanks

HFP has the Toyota challenge at Deer Creek, just south of Columbus. It's usually sometime mid-late september. Pretty good course too.

Did the Briermann in Hagerstown MD. Early October. 'bout a 4 hr drive. Not quite a half. But it will feel like it. AJ won it last year. Scenic and challenging.

Any good ones that someone can recommend fairly close to home? I saw this one www.savagemantri.org/ looks like a tough but fun one. Any others? Thanks Would definitely recommend Savageman. I did the Olympic last year (would have done the half but it was 2 weeks after IMWisconsin). A+ race. The area is beautiful, the course was tough but awesome and the perks were great. Some of the best after race food I've ever had with great bbq sanddwiches and all you could eat ice cream. I ended up winning my age group and my friend won the masters in the Olympic distance and we (along will all the age group winners) got prints signed by Dave Scott. I was just going down to keep my pal company but ended up having a great time at a great race. It's not an easy or fast course by any means and the run is just as tough as the bike (olympic only did 1 loop of the run). I have some friends that have done/trained on the half course and after the famous "wall" climb they say the real work begins as that's when the course just keeps going up and up. I"m already entered in for this year's half.
