The Swim for Diabetes is next weekend, April 3, 4, & 5.
It's a great way to raise money for NEOhio Diabetes Association and get in your swim workout. You can swim as little or as much as you'd like and someone is there to count your laps for you!
There are over 70 pools to choose from and times available Friday, Saturday or Sunday.
All the funds raised stay here in NEOhio, to support the Diabetes Association of Greater Cleveland who work with both Type 1 and Type II diabetes. I've done this 3 years in a row and each year I've been able to raise about $500 just from sending an email to my friends and family.
Here's an idea of where the money goes:
> $50 provides 25 diabetes identification bracelets/necklaces. > $100 provides 1 client with medical nutrition therapy counseling and glucose meter education. > $250 provides 14 clients with a month's supply of insulin syringes. > $350 enables 1 child with diabetes to attend Camp Ho Mita Koda for 5 days. > $500 provides 5 clients with a month's supply of blood glucose strips. > $1,000 enables 1 client to attend 9 hours of diabetes self-management training. > $2,500 supports 1 summer diabetes research intern.
