Wondering if someone can sugest a good first race with indoor swim, I was planning on the Ohio State but it has been canceled. I really dont want to drive 9 hours round trip to Miami university (Oxford Ohio) and do a tri in the same day. Any help recomendations would be apreciated. BD

If you are looking for a tri with an indoor pool swim, you could try the Youngstown YMCA Tri on May 17. I believe it is now held in Boardman. Two years ago I did the race when it was downtown.

Check into Akron General Health and Wellness - they run an indoor tri annually but I believe you need to be a member

There is a YMCA Sprint Triathlon in Bucyrus, Ohio on Sat. May 23. I have done this race many times. It is a indoor pool swim 500 yds. then out door to 12 mi. roads (flat) and 3.5 mi run . This year they are upgrading to chip timing. Post race snacks are a banquet of treats and ladies homemade cookies. Yum! Pre -registration is required. It has wave starts 2 swimmers per lane, 6 lanes. A fun event. Awards 3 deep, 5 yr. age groups & 50+. I may do this one, this year too. to reg. click here: www.bucyrusymca.org/Triathlon%20&%205K/Tri%2009%20information.htm
