Am looking for a place to take my 4 and 8 yr old for a day of water fun. Anyone been to Pioneer or Geauga Lake Wildwater Park. Thanks in advance.

My favorite waterpark as a kid was Dover Lake Park (at the Brandywine Ski resort).

Mark.. U might be starting to show U R age.. Dover Lake was like "So" the 80's!!!!.. ;D
There is Kalahari Water Park in Sandusky, supposed to be really nice.... I have not been back to the water park at Geauga Lake since they closed and re-opened..

I grew up in Chardon, so we were at Pioneer Waterland all the time. It's not HUGE, but enough stuff to keep you busy for several hours. Your 4 yr old probably won't be able to do the big slides. (I don't know their age / height requirement though. ??) I haven't been to the Geauga Lake waterpark since they seperated it from the old Geauga Lake, so I can't really compare them for you. I have seen discounted ticket offers (coupons) for both parks in some of the weekly coupon ads.

I didn't know Dover Lake closed. Went there a couple of times... it was pretty neat!

Yes, Tim, I am an old f**ker !! But, I'm still not a "master" - at least not until next season... I am so bummed that Dover Lake is closed - well, at least I still have my Iron Maiden to remind me of the 80's !! Kalihari is probably one of the best water parks in Ohio - I don't know how crowded it gets in the summer - we take the chillin's in the winter on "off" weekends to avoid the crowds... Dover is closed.... I am soooo in mourning....

We just had a birthday party for our 13 year old son at Pioneer. I hadn't been there in DECADES and the place has really changed. Water slides for all ages, mini-golf, basketball, batting cages, paddle boats, a large pool, and extra charge go-karts. There were all ages there. A couple of the slides are for older kids only. Leave the contacts at home because goggles are forbidden. As a matter of fact, I have never seen so many "do not..." signs in one place. Other than that, though, 11 kids had a great time at the party.
