The post by RobReddy holds some serious weight, especially in my case.
Finished my first tri last summer at Lakeview park, training on my own (which yes, does SUCK per #4) and fell off the training horse since. Now that I'm back in the Cleveland area, back to training alone...Wah Wah.
I would be eternally grateful if I could tap into this massive tri-think tank for some getting-off-the-ground advice. My trek 700 hybrid isn't exactly in tip top shape, and training schedule is non-existant.
If someone rides in the Strongsville-Brecksville-Bedford Metroparks areas, and could shake down the condition of my bike I'd appreciate it.
Thanks for the ears!

I bought my first bike in 25 years late last year. Began getting comfortable with clip in shoes, etc. just in time for the outdoor riding season to end. Ran like crazy over the winter (cut my 5k time by about five minutes from six months previous) and life was grand!
Just as the weather began to break this year hurt my foot, and had lower back problems.
So essentially I am starting over. Road the bike twice this spring and felt like I was learning everything all over again. I have been babying my foot and have only run a total of about an hour over the last month. Weight is up six pounds too (joy!).
I live in Richfield and would be happy to meet up once my body is feeling up to it (hopefully soon).

tomcome up to the monday night brick at RRR (start 6 pm) - there are a bunch of us that can give your bike a look over - but to be truthful - if you are going to get into this sport give some thought to getting a starter road bike. It will make a WORLD of difference to your ridding, running and the pain you may be feeling
