Is it me or are the posts and reponses getting weird/nasty? What is up with some of the avatars people are using? Trinewbies had a problem with hijackers a few years ago, slowtwitch is not very nice, the last thing I want is for the same thing to happen on this site. my $.02.

I think the board is just seeing more activity in general, and not everything everyone says is always nice nice.

Is it just me or am I the only one that is totally confused by this post. I thought we all agreed a month ago to only post PG comments on this forum. So that no one's feelings would get hurt.
And that if we wanted to get into any sort of controversy, that we were supposed to start posting on slow twitch where everyone seems to take a joke for what it is ... a joke.
As far as weird / strange / mean-spirited posts, I don't see it here on this forum at all. Please direct me to these posts as I am curious to read them.

I was just thinking of the same thing yesterday. I think our forum is great for its lack of nastiness. Spirited debate is great but some of the stuff on slowtwitch gets quite mean. Perhaps it's hard to be an ass when people actually might know you. I read someone on msn.com that people are less inhibited and show their "true" selves more on the net. Sad, I suppose.

I hear you on that karming -
I think ST is the way it is because people generally don't know each other.......but, the ones that do are generally resonable to each other.
Even these clicks of ST'ers can disagree though and will defend their posts - sometimes in quite the "spirited" fashion.
If people show their "true" selves on ST than watch out world cause there is a HUGE and LONG stream of AMAZING ATHLETES about to take the triathlon stage.......oh wait, they've been posting there for years and the results still don't show up.....hmmmmmm, I'm confused.

Andrew - do you buy a new bike every year ?? I remember this time last year walking out of Bike Authority while you were bringing your new Cannondale in for a tune-up... The year before that, it was a Scott. How's the windy city ??
