People buy anything no matter the price.. Thats so true...
Look at us buying race wheels.. U can put 8 tires on the car for the same price, as two rims... even one rim..

They just want us to bike around more. Right? I think they should give tax breaks to people who buy bikes, like they give tax breaks for energy-efficient cars and energy-efficient home heaters/air conditioners.

I'm converting my beater bike to a single speed this summer. If i can make it less of a boat anchor it will be even a better commuter than it is now.

Allison that was a very interesting and informative chart it should be shared with all the democrat stategists. The only thing their website says is if asked about gas prices blame George Bush and his oil buddies.
Al Gore (the largest carbon footprint in the country) is back with 300 million more brainwashing dollars so lookout you will see nothing but polar bears for the next couple years.

I would first have to believe that global warming was man made which I don't. I do agree that massive demand fuels higher prices that is simple economics. As far as dependence on foreign oil there is no question about that being a problem. Unfortunately the same people who pregnant dog about it will not allow other forms of energy such as nuclear because of unfounded fears or the possiblility there may be some endangered insect where they want to dig.
Obama can stand in front of all the Detroit auto execs he wants and spew the BS. Nothing will change until there is demand and then American capitalism and good old fashioned greed will provide the answers not some politician who promises Utopia.

I have to agree with Jack... The melting of an enormous Antarctic ice sheet 14,000 years ago triggered climatic changes in Europe and North America that ultimately led to the end of the last ice age.. Global Warming is not due to mankind.. Although, we sure do add to the underlying problem.. Obama has a few good points.. But how much of his plan will actually be used? I believe when the oil companies say its OK to use alternate fuels, is when we will actually start to see them used more widely.. Take Hydrogen for example... www.physorg.com/news98556080.htmlThere are other meanings of dealing with the oil problem.. but, I believe the oil companies control the release of the new fuel sources...

Historically, that has never been the case. Existing entities are not the ones that foster new technologies that replace the existing ones, and why should they when they're making record profits on whats happening today. They might jump on board once the ship is built....but they aren't the ones that actually build anything.
Someone else will be the one who does it, someone like the perdue guys in your article Tim.
As far as global warming goes, using the cyclical end of an ice age as evidence that global warming doesn't exist is flawed on so many levels i really don't know where to begin.
