I would like to thank everyone who stepped up and volunteered on race day for the GCT Tri. As I said before my goal was to put a volunteer at all the corners of the bike course and with all of your help we did it. Thanks to all of you who were willing to work differant parts of the course and race venue when I asked. Special thanks to Matt Luck who worked all three days and brought along his cross country kids to help. They did whatever we asked of them and did a great job on the run course. Special thanks to Matt and Jen who were there at 5:30 and worked the swim exit and then the aid station in the park. They stayed until the last runner came in. The triathletes were very vocal after the race about the caliber of our volunteers who were out on the course and in the park. Thank you all

Thanks to all the volunteers, especially those at the turn around who caught me as I overran the turn around on the first loop. ;D Remember that without you, this race simply couldn't happen.

Kevin, I'm glad we caught you before you went too far. I thought we could have used a better sign there. After you made the turn, I was trying to determine who was on lap 1 and who was on lap 2 and direct them appropriately (or just say, "lap 1 turn at the cone; lap 2, straight through.") Hope I didn't misdirect anyone!

All the volunteers were AWESOME not only in keeping us on the course and hydrated but cheering us on and encouraging us through to the finish. Although, I pushed myself the whole race the support that was given and the great people there kept a big smile on my face. This was my 4th sprint this year and by far my favorite.
THANK YOU ALL!!

pam you did a great job. mickey needs to pay you more. great seeing so many friendly faces on the course. really enjoyed the day and talking with everybody. matt luck thats a great group of kids you have on the cc team very nice and friendly. maybe next year one of them could pace a slow guy like me on the run. 2nd time doing this and i like the mentor headlands location much better than fairport. just didn't realize the long walk to the swim start so i missed my wave start. mickey nice job with the weather.
