Who will be racing on July 17th? Let us know. I will be doing the sprint as a training session for my big A race on the 24th...the Columbus International. Hope to see you there. We will have the CTC banner up so look for it. ANGIE

I'll be there doing the Olympic distance.
Samantha Joseph is doing her first triathlon (sprint) there. She got interviewed by the PD today and I got to be part of it. Look for it in the PD soon.

OK...I'll be there but it looks like this newbie isn't quite up for the challenge as all of you are. I'll be doing the super sprint!! So here is a questions for whoever wants to give me some insight...is it better to start the swim in the back on the inside or the outside? I think the outside I'll end up swimming a bit more in distance but maybe wont deal with such congestion. However, I'm affraid if I start on the inside i'll get jammed in at the buoy. Can anyone shed some insight on which is better? ? Race jitters are killing me!

A little outside is perfect - depending on your swimming ability - don;t seed yourself too far forward OR too far back. There will be a lot more activity on the inside line towards the first bouy - better to start wide and work your way across to it. Better to be swimming with people your own pace or slightly slower - than swimming with people that are swimming over the top of you But - if you can get iun behind a faster swimmer and grab their draft - PERFECT It willbe a fun race - looking forward to everyone making it down there. Did we want to set up a meeting place for everyone pre and post race? ?? Andrew

Near the Goodtime is close to the transition and super-start. I look forward to meeting people. I am car-less and live in Cleveland heights so I haven't made it out to the club work outs. On that note, if there are any heights (near east burbs)folks that are up for informal workouts, please let me know.

The Cleveland tri has a deep water start, which is somewhat rare. The distance to the first buoy in the super-sprint is very short, and theres a huge difference in swimming ability in this race. Don't get too wrapped up in a specific plan pre race, and then panic when it won't work out to the plan. Take a good look at the course before you get in the water, ( it'll all be right in front of you) and be ready to adjust as you swim. Getting out of the water can be tricky depending on how its set up this year, so be sure to pay attention to the swim exit and be ready for that. I won't be there this year, but good luck too all, and have fun.
