Hi everyone.
I finally have put aside my fear and filled out an application form and am mailing it in. I have been very into running the last couple of years but want to do a tri. I do not own a bike yet nor am a very good swimmer. So where/how do I begin? I feel that I need to conquer my fear of the swimming portion soon. (I know I won't drown but just not an effective/efficient swimmer.) Also want to buy a bike within the next couple of months and do not know what to get. Any suggestions would be REALLY appreciated!
Also, when is the next meeting or event to start meeting people?
Thanks so much and I am looking forward to getting involved! Jen

Come to the indoor tri next Sunday, you can help count laps for the swimmers, hang out, meet and chat with other club members.

Jen ...
I'm going through the same feelings. Excited, but new to everything.
Chuck, where and when is the indoor tri next Sunday?
Thanks,
Ryan

Jen, Our primary club sponsor is Bike Authority and they are a great resource to have. Just stop by the shop and explain that you are new to triathlon and they will be more than happy to help you pick out the right bike for you. We have other great sponsors, too, including a great swim instructor, which is sounds like you might benefit from. Check out the member discount page on the club website: www.clevetriclub.com/member-discounts.htmlThis forum is a great source of information, too. Use the search function and check out old threads that might answer some of your questions, or post a new one. Chances are someone else was wondering the same thing Alison
