I thought I'd register and just wanted to say hi. Been around here and there for quite a while, always BOP and trying to make the cutoff. Sometimes do, sometimes don't. But the kids are all grown up, hub's in FL, so I decided to take a run at one great hurrah and see what 2008 might bring. Looking forward to meeting you all on the road ... be sure to wave to the old smiley broad bringing up the rear way back there in the distance.
Kate ;D

Welcome Kate. You will find a wide variety here from old smiley broads to young smiley broads and young and old smiley dudes ranging from many time Ironman participants to beginners just getting ready for their first sprint. Bottom line is the club is a bunch of fun loving people who share a passion for living and triathlon and I encourage you to join in the social and training events and get to know some people.
What's the hub doing in FL? Work or play? I am a General Contractor and have an office in FL. Always looking for new contacts there.

Not to hijack, but I have several contractors (CM/GC and Steel Erection) I work with in Florida and a developer. PM me and let me know where your office is.

Well, Jack, the hub is maxing & relaxing in the Florida sunshine with a fat yellow lab and a skinny kitty. He used to be international sales manager for a camera manufacturer but now spends his time tending to the grapefruit tree and reading torrid novels of murderous crime sprees. me ... still working in Ice City.

Debbie, hey! Thanks for the invite! I've been doing the LSD stuff on Saturday and the biking on Sunday. Monday off. Seems to work so far. I'm still way too slow to run with you, kiddo, but one of these days ... Regards, Kate.

Kate,
Nobody else dared the thought..... Are you related to that not so great Cleveland Browns quarterback? Just curious, because I have always thought Brian Sipe was the Browns best quarterback........
By the way, how is your winter conditioning going while joining the club?

hey Lex, yeah Brian Sipe was OK but Bernie, well ... he kinda typifies the heart and soul of an old steel town. My husbands gramma (now gone) said that there were eight Kosar children way back, and two of the brothers were Bernie's and my husband's grandfathers. That makes them cousins so many times removed. Seriously, if you were to see my husband's nose, there would be no doubt whatsoever that they're related.
Winter conditioning: yeah its coming along. Kinda like driving over a buncha chuckholes, a sorta bumpy ride, but like Natalie Wood in that movie, I'm gonna believe in Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy and the great Ironperson God in the Sky.

Kate,
Lex is my alter-ego! I thought that last name sounded familar....
Winter conditioning is not as much fun as it should be, yet it makes the time fly by.....
