Any thoughts on www.nashbar.com? SeemS like some great deals. I am apprehensive about ordering shoes online, but I am an 11 in most of my shoes. And feel free to look at the prices and you'll see why I am compelled to buy. Generally, do bike shoes fit similar to all others (i.e. if I am a consistent 11 in other shoes, then should it fit in cycling shoes?)? I have pedals and need cleats. Nashbar has the SPD road cleats for $18 I think. I had planned to order those with the shoes. Any concerns of which I should be aware?

I've bought a lot of stuff from nashbar.
If you've never bought cycling shoes before, I think you'd want to try them on before buying. Most go by European measurement. Bike Authority has shoes and gives a discount to the Club. I think the new Performance store in Mayfield will have a pretty good selection too.

Cycling shoes typically run smaller too. Anything to do with fit i buy at my LBS...after shipping it isnt that much and they're cool guys who look after me.

I would love to patronize the LBS but considering nashbar.com has Cannondale shoes listed at $250 for $80 I figured I'd try my luck since the LBS I've gone to, I can't touch shoes of that quality for that price.

The best shoes in the world are junk if they aren't comfortable.
That said, you could get lucky and walk away with a deal.

Do what you must, but i consider that pretty bad form. I was joking, thus the ;D. However, I have an eighth child on the way, and I am building a house. I guess I don't feel bad about getting a better deal online after seeing the real thing at a bike shop. Once costs of this sport get out of control, it will be over before it starts, because my money is demanded elsewhere.
