Hey guys i am a newbie too i never been into a tri before cleveland is very soon i want to do the very easy easy sprint wich i beleive is the 1/2 mile swim 15 k bike and 5 run, i have practice my run and my bike (mountain bike) can i still be ready for cleveland? i havent do any swim yet i dont own a wet suit or a tri bike . can i do the tri with a regular mountain bike? i was on a wedding last week in vegas so that stop my training! if theres any practice this week let me know or any can email me please falenosoy007@hotmail.com This coming Sunday (August 5), the Cleveland Triathlon has a half-sprint (They call it "super-sprint") race with a 300 yard swim, 8 mile bike and 3.1 mile run. The swim, in the harbor by the Rock Hall, feels like you're swimming in a very muddy, crowded swimming pool. When I did that race in 2001, my husband tells me there were people doggy paddling from one lifesaving canoe to another, so people who know how to swim are at a distinct advantage.

Take I-90 to the columbia road exit. Get off and head NORTH. Columbia dead ends into the lake. Parking will be on your left, walk across the road, through the narrow park and down the stairs.
Easy to find.

Here's the URL of the Cleveland Triathlon website: www.pacificsportsllc.com/cleveland/athlete.html. The latest you can register is at the Expo on Saturday. It will be at the Hilton Garden Inn on East 9th Street from 10:00 to 4:00. There will be course talks at 10:30 and 1:00. The SuperSprint race begins at 6:45 AM. It's a good idea to plan to arrive around an hour before the race starts. To get to the water, one jumps off of a Navy landing craft on the East 9th Street pier next to where the Goodtime 3 is docked. I'll probably see you at the race!
