This is for newbies without a running background:
As those who saw me at the picnic know, I have an overuse injury to my foot. When I looked at my training log, I saw exactly how it happened. I'd like to share it with others who are new to running so you don' t make the same stupid mistake I did:
My training plan included two half-hour runs and two cross-training sessions during the week and a long run on the weekend. I'm slow (I don't go many miles during a half-hour), so the increase in distance of the long run regularly exceeded 10% of my weekly mileage.
If my brain had been connected, I would have tracked my mileage better and not increased it by more than 10% per week.
