"Slow Fat Triathlete" is a riot...You don't have to be slow or fat to appreciate it! (Even though I am - slow, not so fat)...
It's a chuckle-out-loud kind of read, and you will certainly find something from it to relate to. I especially like the PRSS - the Post Race Stupidity Syndrome you experience at the end of a race when you can't figure out how to repack your gear or what to eat, or where to sit, or how to get home!
I swear I'm not on the payroll but I'm telling everyone to buy it! (And if they don't, they're getting it for Christmas!)
Great for newbies, kind of newbies (like me) and probably still for the very experienced!

i took a look at this book while hanging out a Boarder a few weeks ago. it did seem funny though I did not buy it. seemed like a 'chic' book and I mean that in a good way. I would definately conside buying it.
another great tri book is "becomming an Ironman'. yes it is geared to folks doing an IM - but really it is simply a very inspirational book - relates the stories of pro and age group (very average age groupers) struggles to do their first IM. Very moving and would be a motivating book for anyone doing tris

I bought this book on the recomdation here, and started reading it before my first tri 2 weeks ago. it was a good, fun, easy read, and had a lot of useful info. thanks for passing along the review! now I'll look for the next one you mention.
