Time to call your shot. Win a custom RAI tshirt with the closest to the pin.
My shot is 11:30 what is yours? anything over 12:00 for me will be a disappointing day. Onward to Tempe. Bring on the heat.

1040.... Thats my bib #...
Calling out a time?? That could be a bad Omen...
Shooting for a 12:30.. anything over 13:00 would't be a dissapointing day, just kinda a bummer...
But any day finishing one.. is and awesome day... Gotta be happy about that?
Good Luck to all, see u at the race...

guys - carry an extra spare tube or a can of vittoria pit stop and know how to use it.
if it is windy - there is often a lot of crap blown onto the road including thorns.
in 05 I flatted three times at IMAZ - and none of them were pinch flats.
have a great race - and remember - don't drink the water in that lake - it's wretched

Oh, yeah... desert flats! I got 4 flats in 5 days in New Mexico. d**n thorns!!!!!
And about that water- I had a couple friends who got terribly sick starting the morning of the race. We ended up chalking it up to the swim in the "lake" the day before. It's nasty in there. Might be better to scrap that pre-race gatorade swim...

Last Year I made an effort to get used to the water by doing all 3 practice swims. Remember what works for one, doesn't necessarily work for all. But Day 1 I felt the water making me feel a little nausis Day 2, I was feeling better and on Day 3 I felt no effects. On race day I didn't feel the effects of this crapish water. Do what you think will work for you and stick to it

Overall, I would have to agree Tim. The water isn't as bad as some make it out to be. I had some races in Ohio last year where the water quality was worse than this

Doing the half last fall, I'm glad I didn't see the poop-plant prior to the swim - that would have been on my mind with every breath (and water swallow). I noticed it on the first lap of the run... It ain't that bad - just don't think about what might be coming out of the nearby pipe !
