Timmy,
Why are you going all wishy-washy on me now. I though you and George were already committed to signing up for Wisconsin in 2008. Jack Carney was also considering doing it again in 2008 as well (although he was less certain).
Based on you and George, I decided to forego KY and wait for the Wisconsin sign-up.
Why? Because you are so d$$m entertaining!

Tim Walsh, Dave Doren, and myself are asking the same question. Im going to speak to Rob Reddy Sunday night and get his thoughts on Kentucky v Wisconsin before we make the final decision. Im personally leaning towards IMMOO mainly because of the heat/humidity factor and the unpredictable river conditions in Louisville.

i think we have to go to WI in order to get in. KY will probably have alot of online slots. Nathan, George and I were thinking about heading to WI to sign up but its not working out as planned. Just seeing what everyone is doing. I will call you sun and let you know what i'm doing. I would be pissed if i were doing IMKY as my first IM and they changed the swim format like that. But I guess theres nothing you can do about it so why bother complaining.

Timmy,
Even Placid had some online slots available (allbeit not many). Just let me know sunday night - my plan was to hold out for the Wisconsin lottery and hope I get in.
But if I'm shut out, I have already registered for Brazil as my first trip of 2008. Rockin' in Florianopolis should be a trip.

Talking to Rob Reddy today has me thinking of IM KY but if there is a large group considering MOO I will go there again as I can sign up live this year. I will wait to hear the consensus.

I can not commit until I see some other things unfold. I would love to do Moo. multisports.com may be my route.

I'm goin to KY. Unless Rob's report is horrible, but based on his feedback so far it looks like a class event.

Speaking with Rob yesterday - he is very impressed with KY.
He and I raced the first IMAZ race in 05 and it had a few teething problems - but nothing which was not addressed in subsequent years.
He thinks the Louisville venue is great - the river - not that big of a deal - I guess we'll hear about the bike later tonight after he finishes - but by all accounts - it is similar to MOO.
WTC puts on the big dance in Kona so they know how to put on an event - no doubt about it. I am not sure that the weather should be such a huge consideration in deciding or comparing Moo with KY
Moo was ridiculously hot two years ago - cold and wet last year - at least with KY - you know it is going to be hot and humid - you can plan your training around it and be prepared.
Not deciding on my 08 IM until next year - mainly because I don't need to - but I will be leaning more towards KY than WI if it came down to those two events.
Guess it will depend on where we want to vacation so it could be anywhere really

I have never signed up online for IM. Is Active.com the only place and the best place as far as getting in? Any tips from those who have done it to avoid problems or delays or for a better chance of being successful in registering?

not that it matters much but - i know a lot of people around the country were waiting for reviews to filter out about Lou - looking at slowtwitch and a couple other sites MY impression is that overall people were quite happy with Lou - I'm gonna guess that it WILL NOT stay open much longer - people playing the Moo v. Lou waiting game may be shut out of both -
but of course i could be wrong - have been often
