We are planning on having a meeting of sorts - maybe over a light meal or similar - for all those members going LOOONG next year.
i.e.
Ironman and Half Ironman distance
This should provide a great opportunity for information sharing - strategy, training and race day information - along with enabling each of us to meet those within the club that are sharing "The Journey"
We will try to set a date after IM Wisconsin - and hopefully enable many members to form small training groups with those either living near them - or on the same training schedule.
Keep an eye on the forum for more information in a few weeks.

Hi Adam
It will be separate - but the club picnic will be a great place to make some more firm arrangements.
Looking forward to meeting you also.

For those that attended the picnic yesterday and met for the long course group- thanks for your interest - it is going to be a lot easier making the haul into each of our races - knowing that we have each other to share and learn with and from.
I know members were not able to make it - so for their benefit - we have decided to do the following:
Form a sub group within the club - with an emphasis on our longer training needs, with opportunities to train together, meet socially and also get into an information or even gear sharing situation. This is in addition to the other general activities the club will continue to feature for all members.
To start the ball rolling - we need from everybody the following info:
Please email me your
Name: Address: Email: Cell Phone number: Race you have planned and date: If it is your first time at that distance also
I will compile a spreadsheet which we will then distribute among the other members of our new group.
I will start to coordinate our next meeting - grouping of athletes in terms of periodization training and also start to collect options in terms of training days we can do together.
Looking forward to hearing from everybody.
For the sake of simplicity - please use the following email address to get everything over to me:
andrewjjoyce@sbcglobal.net
My cell phone number is 440 292 5400 for anyone that needs to call.
As discussed - I am happy to coordinate this group from an administrative/logistics standpoint, unless someone would like to take this role on.
Unless someone can provide a better name for our new collective, I propose we simply call our sub group the "Long Course Athletes Group"
(New names are encouraged!!!!!)
Good to see you all yesterday and hope to hear from the others that were not able to make it soon.

Just keping everyone up to date - we are finalizing the list this weekend - and a proposed bunch of activities.
We are still on top of this - it is just that we want to drop everything into place perfectly before we pull the trigger.
