I'll probably be doing the Chesapeake Man Tri (the ironman distance of the Blackwater Eagleman course) on October 1st in Maryland. Also, I'll be doing the ITU World long course championship (3/4 ironman distance) in Denmark in August.

First road ride outside yesterday with new carbon cranks & carbon aerobars - light light light!! Long, slow distance? Ya right.
Are we ready for spring yet?

Ready? I did two mind-numbing hours on rollers Saturday. Yeah, I'm ready.

How is everybody's training coming along
I have to admit - it feels very strange to have completed an IM THIS early - and the season really hasn't begun yet.
Little post IM blues maybe - wishing it wasn't all said and done.
Looking into IMFL - having difficulty swallowing the Comm Fund fee though
Also- made a commitment to my wife that I would not abandon her over the summer like I did this past winter - we have too much fun on weekends when the weather is warm to pass up on that time together!
So - maybe it is a matter of picking a race for 06 and reigstering this year for next!
We'll see.

All is coming together well so far for IM USA LP. I've gotten in some good bike rides over the past few weeks and I think my swimming has improved markedly this winter. Been going relatively easy on the running for a few weeks, after running a marathon on April 2, but will begin to pick up the mileage and intensities in a couple weeks. Now I am on a recovery week between base periods. As much of a mental break as a physical break. Also looks like I picked the right week to do it, with all this rain and... snow! Andrew, have you considered doing one of the non M-dot races, like the Duke Blue Devil or the Montreal Esprit? The cost would be a fraction of an IMNA community fund entry. Plus I think there is something about racing a M-dot that just makes the preparation experience a little bit more stressful. Just a thought.

Matt
I looked into GFT - but it isn;t as much about the cash (which I could use as a tax deduction next year) as it is about spending some time with my wife this summer.
I was selfish over the winter - and she was totally accepting and supportive - time for me to repay the favor.
She has decided to do her first ever tri - a sprint - Fat Rabbit race June 19.
Am going to race with her and watch her shine!
