We are happy to announce the "First Annual
CTC Holiday Train Camp". Training camp in the heart
of a Cleveland winter - you must be crazy!! NO we
are not - as this training camp is VIRTUAL.
SOOOO - since many folks have some time off over the
holidays, maybe have already packed on a few holiday
pounds or are trying to keep them off, are already
gearing up for their Long Distance race next year,
or simply need a bit of motivation - we offer you
the following...
The "CTC Holiday Training Camp" will run Dec. 23
through Jan 1 (10 days). The camp follows your own
specific training plan and schedule - however the
goal is to see how many points you can accumulate
over the 10 day training period. We will share our
daily totals on line through the FORUM and keep
track of how many points each camper accumulates.
In the end we want to crown a "CTC Holiday Training
Camp" champion - the guy and gal who earn the most
points running, swimming and biking with a few
prizes to be given away.
Here are the rules:
1. Camp starts at midnight Dec. 23 and ends at
11:59 p.m. on Jan. 1.
2. Campers can train any place they like, even out
of state.
3. Campers are encouraged to train together but can
go it alone. You choose, feel free to mix and match.
4. Points are awarded as follows -
1 pt. for every 100 yards swum (in or outside)
1 pt. for every road mile ridden on the bike
of your choosing
1 pt. for every 3 minutes logged on your
bike trainer or in Spinning class
4 pts. for every mile run (1 pt for each 1/4
mile)
for example - if on the 23rd. you swim
2000y, ride the trainer for 30 minutes
and run 5 miles you would have earned 50
points (20 pts swimming, 10 pts
biking and 20 pts running)
5. At the end of each day campers report
their training and points on the CTC Forum under a
Training Camp thread - please be sure to report your
total for the correct day (each day will have its
own thread). If you take a rest day or for some
reason do no training you should report 0 (zero) for
that day so we know we are simply not just missing
your report.
6. I will keep a running totals so that
people can see where they stand and get motivated to
put in some BIG VOLUME.
7. There are NO POINT earned for any other
activities - so no one ask how many points for
weights, yoga, or power walking at the mall.
8. Have FUN - but of course trash talking
is encouraged.
Any questions on the "CTC Holiday Training Camp"
please direct to me.
