With the weather starting to break soon, many of us are looking to get back on the roads and off the trainers. Here are 10 Do's and Don'ts for Outdoor riding:
1. Do wear a helmet and eye protection, light colored clothing. 2. Do follow all traffic laws, signs, signals, lights etc 3. Do ride with traffic. 4. Do ride defensively. Be prepared for the unexpected. 5. Do give notice when passing pedestrians and cyclists. 6. Do take what you need: C02, food, $$$, cell phone, tubes etc. If not, be prepared to walk! 7. Do NOT engage with angry motorists. It's tough, but there weapon(car) is a lot bigger than yours. 8. Do NOT wear earbuds or headphones. Stay focused on what you are doing. 9. Do find others to ride. Group rides are a great way to become a better cyclist.
10. Do wave to other cyclists! Just a high sign to anyone else on the road with you. Doesn't matter is its a little old lady on a 3 speed or some guy just wearing bibs (PG).
This is not all inclusive, be smart and stay upright!
