As part of CTC's 10 Year Anniversary celebration we are bringing back the ever popular and super fun - Virtual Training Camp (VTC)
HERE WE GO AGAIN – OR MAYBE MORE APPROPRIATE IS “WE ARE BINGING IT BACK!!!!!”
The "CTC Virtual Training Camp - Spring Edition" will run April 13 through April 22 (10 days) in prep for the ‘real’ training camp at Mohecan a few weeks later. The camp follows your own specific training plan and schedule - however the goal is to see how many points you can accumulate over the 10 day training period. We will share our daily totals on line through the FORUM (ONLY the Forum – we WILL NO take results on Facebook!!!) and keep track of how many points each camper accumulates. In the end we want to crown a "CTC Spring Training Camp" champion - the guy and gal who earn the most points running, swimming and biking with a few prizes to be given away.
Here are the rules:
1. Camp starts at midnight April 13 and ends at 11:59 p.m. on April 22.
2. Campers can train any place they like, even out of state.
3. Campers are encouraged to train together but can go it alone. You choose, feel free to mix and match.
4. Points are awarded as follows -
1 pt. for every 100 yards swum (in or outside)
1 pt. for every road mile ridden on the bike of your choosing
1 pt. for every 3 minutes logged on your bike trainer or in Spinning class
4 pts. for every mile run (1 pt for each ¼ mile)
for example - if on the 16th. you swim 2000y, ride the trainer for 30 minutes
and run 5 miles you would have earned 50 points (20 pts swimming, 10 pts
biking and 20 pts running)
5. At the end of each day campers report their training and points on the CTC Forum under a Training Camp thread - please be sure to report your total for the correct day (each day will have its own thread). If you take a rest day or for some
reason do no training you should report 0 (zero) for that day so we know we are simply not just missing your report.
Again THE ONLY PLACE TO REPORT camp training totals is ON THE FORUM. WE WILL NOT accept training results posted on Facebook. You must report your training total within 24 hours of the end of the day. For example:
You swim 2000y on April 14. You must report your training results by the end of the next day – so we would only accept training results for April 14 until 11:59 p.m. on April 15. And we will only accept training results ON THE FORUM in the proper thread!!!!!
6. I will keep a running totals so that people can see where they stand and get motivated to put in some BIG VOLUME.
7. There are NO POINT earned for any other activities - so no one ask how many points for weights, yoga, or power walking at the mall.
8. NEW RULE - to be eligible for prizes, to set camp 'Records' or to be crowned King or Queen of Camp - you MUST put in at least one (1) training session over the course of the 10 days in swimming, biking and running. This is a triathlon training camp - everyone should swim, bike and run at least once!!
9. Have FUN - but of course trash talking is encouraged.
10. An awards ceremony will be held some time in the future to recognize VTC participants. This will be a lot of fun!
Any questions on the "CTC Spring Virtual Training Camp" please direct to me.
And again – the two biggest rules…….
1. Report your results ON THE FOURM
2. No bitc h, moaning or complaining – the rules are the rules and they will not change during camp. Suggestions are welcome AFTER camp is OVER.
