Well April is almost here so time to gear up for some East Side Training Opportunities!
1. Tuesday Night Chagrin Falls Rides: We are excited to roll-out information for the 2013 Chagrin Falls Rides and to start things off for the season, Mountain Road Cycles is going to host a special kick-off event on the first ride (April 2, 2013)! Cleveland Triathlon Club members are invited to attend, but regular attendees are encouraged to join the Cleveland Touring Club as they are the official host of this ride. Start Date: Tuesday, April 2, 2013 (and continuing through October). These are every Tuesday.
Start Location: New for 2013, we are starting from Mountain Road Cycles located at: 100 Industrial Parkway, Chagrin Falls, OH 44022 (park in the parking lot behind Hunan).
Start Time: For A&B groups, rides will start at 6PM in April due to daylight. Starting May 7th, we will move back to a 6:30 PM start time for the main part of the season. The C group will start at 6:30 all season.
About the Ride: The ride will follow a variety of gorgeous routes in Geauga County with beautiful pavement! The Tuesday night Chagrin Falls ride will rotate between several mapped routes, which will be rotated through each week in alphabetical order. We have been following most of these routes the past couple years, so several seasoned club riders should know the routes well. All routes cover around 30-34 miles (but can be modified for those not wanting to ride that distance.) Terrain is typically rolling (short hills, moderate grade) to relatively hilly (several short, steep longer climbs).
Tuesday, April 2nd Kick-Off Event Details!
The Scott Demo Van and Rep will be at Mountain Road Cycles (MRC) and there will be bikes to demo. MRC's Official Spring Sale officially starts on Wednesday (4/3) so Tuesday night riders will get a First Dibs/Preview Sale! Mountain Road will also provide some post ride beverages and a bunch of swag!
2. Tuesday Morning Track Workouts: Tuesday mornings starting 4/2.
Depart Lifetime 6:10 AM to run 2 mi warm-up to Beachwood High School Track (arrival ~6:30). Welcome to start either place.
Weekly interval runs. Welcome to do workout of the day or your own one amongst friends. 2 mi cool down back to lifetime.
3. Monday Night Shop Rides from The Bicycle Hub: Starting Monday 4/15 shop rides will commence from The Bicycle Hub in Mentor.
Start Location: 7430 Mentor Ave, Mentor, Ohio 44060
Start Time: Shop rides depart at 6:30 each week and will typically cover 25-35 miles, depending on daylight.
Pace Groups: There will be weekly A, B, and C pace group options (with C’s doing a shortened route).
Special note for week one: For week one (4/15/13), please plan to attend a special ride safety meeting prior to the ride to go over some rules of the road. Meeting will start at 6PM and the ride will commence at 6:30 PM.
