OK so what is the very best race you have ever done?
I don't mean what race did you preform the best - I mean what race was the best run, most fun, well organized, had a great course, spectators - you know simply was a fantastic experience regardless of how you raced or placed. A race that even if you bombed in terms of your athletic performance you would go go back because it was such a great experience.
For me there are a few.......
Wildflower - the very best all around tri vibe - three days of tri-geekdom camping with 10,000 friends, 2 raced HIM Sat then you can do an Oly Sun, amazing scenery, very very tough course and impeacibly run.
IM Mt Tremblant - increadibly well run, great tough course, beautiful countryside, and probably the best logistics of any IM i've done.
IM Canada - the old on in Penticton - NEVER in my 31 years of tri racing have I been in a community that embraced a race like the folks in Penticton did. Best volunteers EVER - most were very experienced triathletes - beautiful country side.
Sooooo lets hear some feed back from you all.........

Musselman- best race experience. Nice setting, great ride, and the run is well supported with volunteers and fans. Getting hosed on neighborhood streets is fun. The bongo guy in the tunnel gives a great boost when you need it. Also, getting to paint the Frazz mural was fun.

Musselman.....do I really need to say more.
I think Ken has said it. I will add that the race director is awesome. He is funny and puts together a great event.
I can't wait to go back this summer.

I have to agree with Rob on all points, IMC Penticton second to none. I've been there 7 times to participate and once just to register, that's got to tell you what I think of the event and city. IMC Penticton is no longer an IM race but is now Challenge Penticton one of the Challenge Family of global series of long distance triathlons. Penticton will always be Penticton.

Another vote for Musselman....
first year there (2011) was puking the whole second half of the run....went back last year to do the double, and again this year!
Agree with the points Ken and Eric made-
Friday there is the micro-mussel where there is a wave that is on big wheels/tricycles where people are dressed up-super fun to watch. The RD makes it all about the athlete. Family friendly. Beautiful area. Town gets into it, as Ken said folks are out there with their hoses on the run...oh I'm getting excited for JULY!!!

Hardest- American Triple T. Hands down
Inspiring- My first Ironman in Wisconsin. There is nothing in the world as amazing as the finish line of your first Ironman.
Best- New York City Marathon. Unbelievably awesome.

Musselman is a great race - good people up there I really do like IM Lake Placid the venue is hard to beat - (I hope to do the new Canada next year - I hear it is great) When I first started running there were a couple of races in San Diego (we lived there) where you started on Coronado Island and ran back across the bridge to the mainland - priceless

IM St George for me, the race venue is oh so scenic. Very colorful mountains and rocks, trees, lava fields, dunes, ... spectacular. Sand Hollow reservoir for the swim is really pretty, bike course is kickass hard, run through the town or into the mountains has so much support from the locals. Great race! Can't wait to go back for the 70.3 this year.

Reading these posts has me fired up! Why? I have Triple T, Musselman, and IM Moo on my race card this year. All 3 memtioned above! It is going to be a great year!
The race that sticks out for me was the Frogman Tri in Daytona Beach, 2012. It was my first open water ocean swim, the bike was a beautiful ride with some amazing cyclists, and the run was on the beach. The best part is the race supported the Navy SEAL Foundation and the 31 Heroes Project supporting surviving families of fallen military heroes.

Ironman Louisville: honestly finishing was one of the best moments of my life.
Musselman: most I have ever enjoyed racing a triathlon.
Bourbon Chase: 11 other awesome people + bourbon distilleries, do I need to say more?

Beach 2 Battleship - My only IM, so hard to say, but it is a great location, seemed like good fan support and the swim is phenomenal. Run and bike are flat fast courses. Doing Triple T this spring....
