How cold does it need to be for you to switch to tights instead of shorts?

I've already switched to capris if under 50. Low 40s and below tights for me!

Probably in the mid to low 40's, depending on wind, rain, etc. I will consider wearing tights. Have a couple of pairs because there is a HUGE difference between a mild 40 degrees and a windy 10 degrees :-)
For the record, when I did IMLOU in 90 degree heat Reddy had on tights...so he might make the switch at even higher temps.

Cloudy - damp and mid 40 is a must - if it is sunny and dry around 40
Reddy -are you the same guy that doesn't wear a wet suit in water even though it is only 60 - what's that about

I like the freedom in the water so I'll put up with the cold - I really hate the wet suit - but I did buy a De Soto speed tube to swim in and actually love that - i think I was the only person at IM MTb without a wet suit top on this year

Wish I could wear Capris like Jen. I'll get down to mid-30's before wearing tights.

Eric you could totally rock some capris!
Actually thought of that after I posted that doesn't help the guys much, but why is it guys where "capris" on the bike but not running?

I'd wear shorts in weather above 25 degrees. Anything below, it depends on the wind and if there is snow. I don't wear tights or capis.

I'll wear shorts if it is 40 degrees or warmer.

Jen...on the bike those are knee warmers that don't go down as far. I have a pair but they are tight below the knee.
