Arrived at race site day before race. Tjhe rain that was around all week had just begun to clear. This was good.
Race morning brought one of the more majestic sunrises than I have seen in some time.
Gun went off. 1st swim loop good. 2nd swim loop had cramps in both legs entire loop. Made 2nd swim loop hard. This was not a good sign.
Got on bike. Rode easy, legs loosened up. Bike was good, but at mile 90 stomach started getting a bit testy.
Got off bike. Ran 2 miles before stomach went into revolt and leg cramp issues from swim manifested again. Drank coke and water. Run was ok for 10 miles. Miles 10-15 was death march. Strolled through miles 15-24 eating pretzels and drinking chicken broth. Ran last 2 miles with recent car vs. bike survivor and 1st time IronWoman Beth. Ran across finish line. This was good worth all of the training, suffering on the race course and disappointment as the wheels fell off.
What a great sport and tri community. Which one to do next?...

Brandon - It was great to see you out on the race course and after you told me about your 1:10 swim last time I had to go out there and do a 1:09. Funny.
So here is my very abbreviated race report. Good swim. I had a pretty good bike (tried to take it EZ) but ate to much food. On the run my stomach was upset after the first 13 miles. I couldn't drink anything for a while which of course made my legs cramp. But I managed to pull it together at the end and run steadily (and slowly) to the finish. My great (and crazy) support crew ran it in with me and I was so psyched by finishing my first iron distance race that I jumped high up in the air and got a massive leg cramp - didn't land it very well and just about took out the whole crew and finish line folks! Can't want to see that finish line pic!!! It's been a dream to finish an IM distance race for so many years. My first and last! Thanks to CTC for all the support and encouragement!
