The bike changes are feeling really good and she is running so quite and smooth. Just need more energy..still havent recouperated 100%. Hopefully my daughter will post something to my blog. And facebook. The race website will have updates every 5 mins. I just dont want to be last off the bike. Probably will be last out of water. Www.usaultatri.comDebbie

Good luck and have fun Debbie.
For those who aren't sure what a double ironman is, Debbie plans to swim 4.8 miles, bike 224 and then run 56.4 miles this weekend.

Just got an update from Debbie's family on the race:
Debbie's swim was on target. The first half of the bike was on schedule however the second half of the bike she was having stomach issues and issues because of the dark. She did not finish bike section untill 7:20 this morning (yes... that's almost 24 hours later!). She started the run at 7:30. She has about 3 more laps to finish the first of two marathons.
Amazing feat of endurance ! ..

Sorry, so many different places to post these days.
I finished just under 32 hours. I did the double swim, double bike, but only one marathon. No shame in DNF's in the race. I can not run a marathon under 5 hours especially with the bike hill. I had ankle and foot injury earlier so I hadnt gotten the miles in I needed for 2 marathons. So I'm okay with that.
We started with thick fog that played with my head and probably never recovered from that as well. Wasnt last out of the water and swim with small detour I took was right on from previous years. If I could of stayed on course I would of had a nice PR. Couple people were still in the water when I got out.
I had gut issues during the night ride and the hour delay in start took us later in the night to finish the bike. Trying to purge what ever ailed me really took alot of energy out of me. But I stayed strong and pushed, and went with what ever I could. Had my gut not rejected me I would of had a very strong bike part. I was told I passed 5 men some where early night and was 4/6 women.
The run/walk took me along time to get into. I was still dizzy and only started to feel better once we were about 30 hours into the race. Go figure.
I think we had 20 men and 6 women. I'm not sure how many dropped and how many finished with an Iron Plus (thats what they give you when you finish only 1 marathon)
Working on race report... Debbie
