I just found out last week during 112 mile bike that my Garmin 405 battery runs out at 7 hours.
The problem is it will take me over 11 hours to do bike and run for IM distance.
Has anyone else had this problem? How did you solve it?
I wanted to wear it on bike and run.
did you just use it on Bike? or Run?
what have others done in this situation?

I have a 305 and faced the same issue. I assume you are wearing the watch for the heart rate monitor on the bike.
You have 3 options. 1) you can use the watch in "indoor" mode while on the bike which does not connect it to the satellites and thus the battery lasts quite a bit longer. then switch it to 'outdoor' mode when you start the run.
2) you can use a different heart rate monitor watch during the bike. This is what I elected to do.
3) go way harder than you have ever trained or expect to race and finish in under 7 hours. This would probably be hardest to do...but most entertaining from the spectator side of the house.

that would be in my dreams to do one under 8 hours Ha!
I have a friend who said I can use theirs so I will just use one on bike then swithc for the run
I like to know average mph/pace and heart rate.
I would like to stay at 18 mph and under 10 min/mile and I know I would slip if I did not have that feedback
