4/16 Spring Duathlon and Swap Meet

Come out and get ready to kick off race season with the Brecksville Duathlon with CTC!

The event will consist of an opening run on trails and pavement which will consist of about 1.5 miles. The bike leg will be on the road and consist of two loops around the park which will consist of about 8 miles. The route is rolling with one steep but short uphill. The second run will be entirely on trails and be about 2.5 miles in length. The route may vary slightly depending on trail conditions found on the day of the event.

Registration: 8:30 AM

Start: 9:00 AM

Location: Meadows Picnic Area is located off Meadows Drive in Brecksville Reservation, off Chippewa Creek Drive in Brecksville. Visit www.clevelandmetroparks.com for more information.

Cost: Race Day Registration: $5 for CTC Members, $10 for Non-CTC Members (Pay and fill out waiver the day of the event)

This can be as laid back or competitive as you want it to be and is a perfect opportunity to come out and use this as a tune up event to get ready for the season. The bike is a super fun course and guaranteed to bring a smile to your face!

Following the duathlon, CTC will host a SWAP Meet and Brunch Social! Come down between 11 AM - 1PM at Meadow Picnic area in Brecksville!

SWAP Meet- Have stuff sitting around that you no longer need? Come out and sell it! The way the swap meet works, is you bring whatever you want and sell it. All money goes directly back to you. Interested in getting a deal? Come out and see what you might find!

CTC will provide coffee, juice, bagels and more! Feel free to just come out and socialize during this time!

Also of note, plan to come out to the swap meet and brunch social following the du from 11-1. Rumor has it Durno is going to try to serve up some egg sandwiches! This is the week you should rummage through your stuff and see what you might want to part with for the swap meet!

Hey everyone,

The weather people are predicting crappy weather for the weekend (like we can really believe anything they say!).

If is is true, we are planning on having a large group run from 3-5 miles at whatever pace everyone wants to run at. We will probably have a couple of pacing groups. Food and swap meet will follow.

Don't plan on not showing up if it is raining, instead join us for the trail run!

Check the forum for updates. If in doubt, pack for the Du and be ready to trail run and you won't go wrong!

I'm planning to run ~2 hrs. on the trails at 10-12 min/mile pace regardless of weather. I'll be running after the du if it is nice and in place of the du if it is raining. Other runners welcome :-)

Due to the predicted bad weather (heavy rain and wind), we have replaced the duathlon with a trail run in Brecksville Reservation!

The location is the same (Meadows Picnic Area) but the time has changed to leaving at 10am. The swap meet is still on at 11am, as is Mark's Culinary Creations!

Come join us for a wild and muddy trail run through the beautiful Brecksville Reservation!

Well, now that mother nature has forced a change of plans I will be departing for my run at 9 and circling back to meet everyone else at 10. Still plan to stay on the trails at ~10-12 min./miles. If anyone wants to get in extra mileage you are welcome to join me early.

Perfect day for a trail run. Brecksville truly does offer some gorgeous trails and nothing beats splashing through the trails and creek crossings with friends! Great to see a lot of old and new faces out there!

Durno really outdid himself with his egg sandwiches! A special thanks to Muscle Milk for the quenching post run drinks, Josh Ritchie from Ritchies Sporting Goods for the awesome hookups and a special shout out to Mike Rosenberg for the sweet vintage jerseys!

On a personal note, a special thanks to Eric Gibb who gathered a group of us who will all be doing TTT for the first time in just over a month. He went over the course in detail and outlined all the secrets we would want to know. Truly one of the best rewards of being a member in the club is learning from the other people in the club! I cannot say enough about how wonderful people are in the club!
