2011 St. Malachi Volunteer Program

CTC Peeps,

For the 3rd year consecutive year The Cleveland Tri Club is partnering with Hermes for volunteer support at the St. Malachi 5 mile road race on Saturday, March 12. In exchange, we get a table for people to gather and to promote our club and sport.

We need as many volunteers as we can get for pre-race set up and post-race food distribution. The *tentative* time that we will need volunteers to show up is 8:00 a.m. If you can't make it at 8 (or tend to oversleep ;-) then stop by to help out whenever you are able!.

St. Malachi is a HUGE 5 mile race which kicks of the racing season for many NE Ohio endurance athletes. Club members will also be gathering for an after party post race. If you aren't racing, please stop out to volunteer if you are able! If you are racing, come early and help set up!!! Then stay late and hand out food after your race.

Thanks Kelly and Durno!! Hermes has said that they need us to report ~8:30. Please plan to meet at the CTC table near registration/packet pick-up at 8:15. Durno, I feel you re: the training volume. I've had to cut back lately too...having some back issues (somehow I think overuse might be easier to take than degeneration) Anyways....

*If you aren't able to volunteer next Satruday the 12th, we will also need vounteers the following Saturday, March 19th for the CTC/CSU Indoor Tri. Let us know if we can add your name to that list!*

Hey folks....WE STILL NEED MORE VOLUNTEERS THIS WEEKEND! Hermes gives CTC a free table to pass out flyers, etc....we need to hold up our end of the bargain which is to bring enough volunteers to set up the post-race food and hand it out!

Ok peeps, we will meet at the CTC table near registration at 8:15 a.m. and will start setting up the food area at 8:30.

Dress for the weather!! If it is raining, we'll still need to feed the runners! I think it will clear up before race time though (seems to be a trend for this event) See you all in the morning! What a great showing of support we had on Saturday. HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who volunteered!!! On top of the folks that showed up as volunteers there were numerous racers who stopped by before and/or after the race to offer their assistance.

I am very proud to be part of this club and all the generosity of the volunteers on Saturday is exactly why. Thanks CTC peeps...Chris, Chuck, Kelly, Tiffany, Durno, Walsh, Ken, Ian, Janet, Tim, Pat, Mike and everyone that stopped by pre/post race...you all rock!
