If you have never done a tri, I would recommend the Women's Only Tri (super sprint) through HFP racing at the Portage Lakes. That was my first ever triathlon. It's on Saturday Sept. 18. www.hfpracing.com/events/2010/girls-tri-too-pl

I agree with Kim - even if you have done tri's before the HFP race weekend at portage lake also has sprint and Oly distance races on Sunday - Its local and the race is well run - as you get later in the year the weather can be tough - the Mt Sterling race has been run in high 80"s and in the low to mid 40's -

I did Fairport as my first sprint- was okay. I just did the cleveland super sprint and did really well (placed 3rd in my group), so I want to try another sprint. I live in Ashtabula, so Geneva is home. I was just worried when I saw there were only 2 waves for the swim, if it's a big race, not sure I am ready for that. My brother has done portage Lakes and said it's a pretty tough course for the bike. Was just wondering what these races are like. Thanks!
