Does anyone have any thoughts/impressions of Lifetime Fitness on the east side? I'm thinking of switching my longtime gym membership from a place by my house to one by my work.
I'm most interested if anyone knows how busy the lap pool gets (especially early morning).
Thanks!

Marsita,
They Have everything you need under one roof! Also, they have Spa/Hair Salon, Dinning Facility, Child Care, wow it just goes on from there.......
Great pool's indoor and out, it feels as if you are on vacation around all that water.....
You will be impressed with all they offer.
Brian
p.s. let me add, a rock/climbing wall, two full size basketball courts, they host birthday parties, spin studio with 60 plus bikes, yoga and Pilate studios, two large work out studios, personal instructors......... who knows what they might add!

Marsita,
Well my cousin reason visited from Chicago, who has a very nice gym that I have been to. However, she was even blown away by it and keeps referring to Lifetime Beachwood as "Dream Gym". Needless to say I really like it.
I just left the pool this morning and swim often in the early mornings. It would be incredibly rare to even ever have to split a lane there and pool hours are 5AM to midnight or something ridiculous. Indoor 25M lap lane pool is kept comfortably cool for swimming and the outdoor lap pool kicks butt too.

Jen and I were thinking about Lifetime. When the Mayfield outdoor pool closes in a couple weeks I'll have no (convenient) place to swim, as I am done with the Y.

I haven't had a problem getting a lap lane, but I typically only swim there on evenings or weekends.
We have been meeting there on Thrusday nights for a group ride. There are lots of great cycling options just on the other side of I-271. You can schedule a tour, or if you would like I can give you a guest pass (which is free) on a Thursday night when I am there for the ride. You can come ride and check out the club first hand. There is also a Monday night cycling group that leaves out of the club.
They also have group runs reguarly (not sure what nights) out of the club. Also, they have what they call "performance cycle" spin classes that are lead by cyclists and are designed for folks who actually ride a bike...not just do spin classes. Club member Kurt Molter teaches a popular spin class there...but you gotta get there early ;-)

Sounds awesome but the ultimate question is how much does it cost?
Their website is not very helpful unless you want to prvide your personal information.

My husband and I are members and really like it. They do have everything, although I have not used anything but the pools

Sounds awesome but the ultimate question is how much does it cost? It is about $50/month for an individual....not sure about the family plans. There are no contracts, everything is month to month. Considering that I do not have to join a climbing gym and a fitness center with a pool it will save me money over the winter.

Thanks Brandon - that is much less than I thought it would be for such a decked out place!
I will consider it when my term ends at my current gym.

Thanks for all the great feedback. Based on the info I received, a single membership is $57/month. There's a promotion currently to waive the start up fee although I think there is still some sort of administration fee. I have to get some more info on that. They are also offering "Lifetime Bucks" of $100 which you get after 6 and 12 months of membership. My understanding is that those can be redeemed for additional services like personal training.
I'm going for a tour tonight to check it out.
