Contador just took the lead. Schleck is claiming poor sportsmanship. Some dude was head butting another last week. Lance is trying for a stage win, but does not want it given to him. This is pretty good stuff.

I'm not surprised that Contador pulled away. I was disappointed in how things worked out in the end. Essentially all of Astana vs. Schlek promised to be a great end to the stage. Schlek saw something in Contador and attacked, but it was over shortly after. Schlek had to fix his chain and had no help getting back to the Contador group. I would have liked to see Schlek stay in yellow, at the very least I would have liked to have seen a showdown finish. I can't fault Contador for pulling away. It's the Tour de France after all.

I have 2 thoughts:
1) Was there ever any doubt that Contador is riding for himself and will steal time at every possibility? If he thought he could easily beat Schleck he wouldn't have went off the front when he dropped his chain. But, he knows that Schleck could very easily win the bike race so he's going to take every advantage he can.
2) There should be a spoiler alert in the subject of this thread.

1. No doubt Contador rides for himself. You only have to look back to last years tour for a perfect example of that.
2. Sorry about the spoilage!

Contador is a pregnant dog, and is scared of Andy. It's one thing to keep riding, it's quite another when you ride past the yellow after being dropped because he is having a mechanical. When Contador looked back and saw Andy back and coming he should have sat up to square things away.
This isn't triathlon. This is supposed to be about the man.
I can't wait to see Andy destroy Alberto on the Tourmalet.

The tour is a week and half old. how could you think that this wasn't a possible spoiler?
Just saw Contador and Schleck chatting in the saddle. Wonder what they were saying to each other? and does every sentence from Schleck end in "douchebag" as in " yea, sure it's no problem you took the yellow, douchebag"?

The race should be decided tomorrow.

Unless Andy Schleck gains 1-2 minutes on Contador tomorrow, this tour is probably over. Contador will whip him in the time trial.
I wish this thread had started earlier - I missed out on Aussie's ranting about Cadel Evans this year!

If Andy is in yellow, i think he wins regardless - for two reasons.
1) It means he dropped Contador on the climb, which means Alberto dug as deep as he could and came up short. An effort that massive drains him and he doesn't have the same form.
2) Cadel was supposed to smash Sastre in 2008, but didn't.
